Beta

Spectrapress is pre-release software. The current beta is intended for a small group of active Ghost publishers who are comfortable testing real workflows, keeping backups, and reporting reproducible problems.

It is not yet recommended as the only copy of important work or as the sole publishing tool for a production publication.

What you need

• An existing Ghost publication running a current supported Ghost release.
• A Ghost staff account with permission for the actions you want to test.
• An iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 26, or a Mac running macOS 26.
• An Apple ID with iCloud enabled for cross-device draft synchronization.
• A willingness to keep a recent Ghost export or another reliable backup while testing.

Minimum system requirements may change during the pre-release period. Each TestFlight build will list its current requirements.

What the current beta can do

• Connect to more than one Ghost publication.
• Sign in with a Ghost staff account, including supported verification challenges, or use an Admin API key as an advanced option.
• Pull existing posts and pages with their content, images, tags, and publication details.
• Create local posts and pages.
• Edit common Ghost cards, including text, headings, images, galleries, embeds, bookmarks, callouts, buttons, code, dividers, and HTML.
• Preserve unfamiliar Ghost cards during a round trip.
• Compare local and Ghost versions, undo changes, and review before reverting.
• Send drafts to Ghost for review and find review-ready posts in a shared queue.
• Synchronize local drafts and images through the tester's private iCloud account.

Important beta limitations

• This is an early build and may contain defects, including defects that affect formatting, synchronization, sign-in, or publishing.
• Image-heavy round trips, concurrent edits, interrupted transfers, expired sessions, and large publication libraries are still under active testing.
• Ready for Review is a lightweight Ghost-backed workflow, not live collaboration. It does not include comments, assignments, or notifications.
• Ghost permissions still apply. Some actions, including page creation, publishing, author assignment, and the review workflow, may be unavailable to some staff roles.
• Unsupported Ghost cards are preserved but cannot always be edited in Spectrapress.
• Native video-card editing and upload are not included in the current beta.
• Cross-device iCloud updates are not guaranteed to appear instantly and require connectivity.
• Deleting the app does not delete content already published to Ghost.

Before you test

Create a current Ghost export or backup. Begin with a test publication or non-critical drafts. After pushing a change, inspect it in Ghost Admin and on the published site before relying on it.

If you see unexpected content loss, duplication, incorrect publication state, or a permission problem, stop testing that workflow and report it with the app build, device, operating-system version, steps taken, actual result, expected result, and a screenshot when appropriate.

Email support@spectrapress.app with the Apple devices you expect to use, the type of Ghost site you manage, and your Ghost staff role. Invitations are limited while the first workflows are being validated.

Testers can also use TestFlight's Send Beta Feedback option from an installed build.
