Support
Setup guidance, troubleshooting steps, and a direct way to report Spectrapress beta issues.
Spectrapress is currently a limited pre-release beta. Support is provided by Type & Signal LLC on a best-effort basis; there is no 24-hour or guaranteed response time.

Current version
The current development release is Spectrapress 0.1 beta. The exact build number appears in the app's About screen and in TestFlight.
Known areas under active testing include Ghost account sessions, image-heavy round trips, interrupted synchronization, concurrent local and Ghost edits, large libraries, cross-device iCloud synchronization, and staff-role permissions.
Getting started
- Open Spectrapress and choose Connect a Ghost Site.
- Enter the full public address of the Ghost publication, including
https://. - Sign in with a Ghost staff email and password. The password is sent directly to that Ghost site and is not saved.
- Complete a Ghost verification challenge if the site requires one.
- Pull the site's Library, open a post or page, and make a small test edit.
- Review the local and Ghost versions before pushing the change.
- Confirm the result in Ghost Admin and on the public site.
Admin API key authentication remains available under the advanced connection option for appropriate setups.
Sign-in and verification problems
- Confirm that the address is the publication's public HTTPS URL, not a Ghost Admin subpage.
- Confirm that the email belongs to an active Ghost staff member.
- Try signing in to Ghost Admin in a browser to confirm the account and password work there.
- Check the staff role. Contributors, Authors, Editors, and Administrators have different Ghost permissions.
- If Ghost sends a verification code, use the newest code and complete the prompt before it expires.
- If a session has expired, reconnect the site. Do not create a second connection with a different spelling of the same URL.
- If the site is temporarily unavailable, wait until Ghost Admin is reachable before retrying a pull or push.
Never send a password, session cookie, verification code, or Admin API key in a support request.
Local, iCloud, and Ghost copies
Spectrapress can involve three related copies of a story:
- Local: the editable copy stored by Spectrapress on the device.
- iCloud: the private CloudKit copy used to synchronize Spectrapress data across the tester's Apple devices.
- Ghost: the publication copy stored on the connected Ghost server.
These copies do not update through the same mechanism. A local edit does not become a Ghost change until it is pushed. Ghost content does not replace local work until it is pulled or a reviewed conflict action is chosen. iCloud synchronization may take time.
Before disconnecting a site
Finish or export important local drafts first. Disconnect and Keep Local Copies removes the saved Ghost credentials but preserves the site's local Library identity and entries. Permanent deletion removes the saved connection and local Spectrapress copies, but it does not delete content already stored on Ghost.
When uncertain, keep the local copies and reconnect later.
