Spectrapress is a native Ghost editor for Apple devices provided by Type & Signal LLC ("Type & Signal," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how Spectrapress handles information when you use the app, website, and beta-support channels.

Information handled by the app

Ghost connection information

To connect a publication, Spectrapress processes the Ghost site URL and either:

• a Ghost staff email and password used to request a Ghost session; or
• an Admin API key entered through the advanced connection option.

The password is sent directly from the app to the Ghost site you choose over its network connection. Spectrapress does not save the password. The resulting Ghost session cookie, or the Admin API key when that method is used, is stored in Apple Keychain on the device and marked as available only while that device is unlocked.

The app may also store the connected site's display name, URL, staff email, and reported Ghost staff role so it can identify the publication and apply the correct permission behavior.

Publication content and images

Spectrapress processes the posts, pages, titles, body content, tags, authors, excerpts, publication metadata, featured images, galleries, and other content you choose to pull from or send to Ghost. Images selected for a story are copied into Spectrapress storage so the app does not depend on continued access to the original Photos item.

When you push content, the relevant content and media are sent directly to the Ghost publication you selected. The Ghost operator and hosting provider process that information under their own terms and privacy practices.

Local and iCloud data

Spectrapress stores its working library on the device using Apple's data frameworks. When iCloud is available for the app, drafts, metadata, and locally stored images synchronize through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple ID. This allows your Spectrapress library to appear across your compatible Apple devices.

Private CloudKit data is managed by Apple under your Apple account. It may count against your iCloud storage and may not synchronize immediately. Spectrapress does not operate a separate account or content-sync server.

Support communications

If you contact support or submit TestFlight feedback, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, app build, device and operating-system details, steps to reproduce a problem, screenshots, and message content. Do not include Ghost passwords, session cookies, verification codes, or Admin API keys.

Analytics, advertising, and crash reporting

The current Spectrapress beta does not include a third-party advertising SDK, behavioral analytics SDK, or third-party crash-reporting SDK. Spectrapress does not sell personal information or use app content for targeted advertising.

Apple, TestFlight, the App Store, the Spectrapress website host, and your Ghost provider may generate operational logs or diagnostics under their own policies. If Spectrapress later adds analytics or crash reporting, this policy and the app's App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that collection begins.

How information is used

Information is used to:

• connect to the Ghost publication you select;
• display, edit, synchronize, compare, and publish content at your direction;
• preserve local drafts and synchronize them across your Apple devices;
• enforce or explain Ghost staff-role limitations;
• provide beta support, investigate defects, and improve reliability; and
• protect the app, service, and users from misuse or security incidents.

When information is shared

Spectrapress sends information only as needed for the services you choose to use:

• Your Ghost publication and its hosting provider receive sign-in requests, content, metadata, and media involved in the Ghost operations you initiate.
• Apple processes private CloudKit data, Keychain-protected device credentials, TestFlight information, and App Store services under Apple's policies.
• Service providers supporting the website or email may process ordinary server logs and communications needed to operate those services.
• Information may be disclosed when reasonably required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell your content or credentials.

Retention and deletion

Ghost content remains on the connected Ghost server until it is changed or deleted through Ghost by an authorized user. Disconnecting a site in Spectrapress does not delete Ghost content.

Disconnect and Keep Local Copies removes the site's stored credentials while preserving the local Spectrapress entries and site identity for later reconnection.

Permanently Delete Local Copies removes the saved site connection and that site's local Spectrapress entries. Those deletions are expected to synchronize through the user's private iCloud database when synchronization is available. Removing the app from one device alone may not remove data retained in iCloud or content stored on Ghost.

Support communications are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, diagnose recurring problems, meet legal obligations, and protect the service.

For help understanding or deleting Spectrapress-related data, email support@spectrapress.app. We cannot delete content or account records controlled solely by your Ghost operator or Apple; those requests must be directed to the applicable provider.

Security

Spectrapress uses platform protections including Apple Keychain for Ghost session credentials and HTTPS for remote connections. No system can guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique Ghost password, enable available Ghost account protections, keep devices updated, and promptly revoke a session or Admin API key you believe has been exposed.

Children's privacy

Spectrapress is a publishing tool for Ghost staff members and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children through the app.

International use

Apple, your Ghost provider, and other selected service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their handling of that information is governed by their respective policies and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Spectrapress changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published. When appropriate, we will also provide notice through the app, website, TestFlight notes, or another reasonable channel.
